Checkdate: YES This picture is currently hanging in the Chautauqua Room in the Hotel Pattee. It was provided by Corbis-Bettman Archive in NY with permission to use in the room only. Carrie Nation born November 25, 1846, died June 9, 1911. Member of temperance movement and battled against alcohol in pre-Prohibition America. Noted for promoting her viewpoint through vandalism. On many occasions Nation would enter an alcohol-serving establishment and attack the bar with a hatchet. |
