Scanned from Perry in Pictures 1908. Congregational Church organized in December 1883. First church was built on NE corner of Third and Otley. In 1905 new church built at NE corner of Fourth and Warford. Church disbanded in 1940 and building was sold to Trinity Lutheran in 1941. Church was damaged by fire in 1955 and extensively remodeled. Trinity Lutheran moved to new church at 2715 Iowa Street. Final services June 28, 1970. Old bell taken to planter at main entrance of new church. Local Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America purchased building and used as activity hall. Perry Bible Church used building in early 1980's. Currently used by Heartland Church of Christ. |
