These pictures are currently hanging in the D.J. Pattee Suite at the Hotel Pattee. Born December 22, 1839; died July 1912. Settled west of Perry in 1867 and opened general store. Moved the store closer to the railroad in 1868. Involved in mercantile business, real estate, banking. Served as Perry mayor and on numerous boards. Married Sarah Isabelle Moore in 1872; six children: May Harry, Martha, Ada, Willie, child who died in infancy. Sons Harry and Will built the Hotel Pattee in his honor near the site of his early general store but D.J. died before it opened. |
